Preparing for your Visit
Before the visit:
- Complete MilkNotes intake. Completing this intake, including consent to care is required prior to our appointment. .
- Clients confirmed with The Lactation Network and self pay clients do NOT need to upload insurance information to MilkNotes.
- Aetna clients please upload a picture of your insurance card to MilkNotes.
- If there is anywhere in particular I should park at your home or any codes needed to access an apartment or gated complex please let me know before to the appointment.
- I am happy to mask if requested, just email me!
- It will be helpful to have babe's feeding and diaper history for the last 24 hours available, as well as weight history including birth weight, discharge weight and current weight. (Don't stress if you don't have every number!)
- Please take a minute to prepare any questions you would like to discuss during the visit.
- Do not worry about cleaning up for me, I am only there to work with you and baby! I promise I do not notice dust bunnies or dishes.
During the visit:
- I need a flat level surface for my scale and access to a sink to wash my hands.
- Please have baby in just a clean dry diaper to be weighed.
- To allow you and baby to get my full attention, please try to keep distractions like television, loud music to a minimum.
- Calm and quiet pets are fine, however if you have an extra energetic or protective pet it's best to put them up before I arrive.
- Having a quiet show or books for siblings to be occupied with will also help us to utilize the time during our visit.
- We will always weigh baby during our visit, and I will leave a written summary of the plan and what we discussed during the appointment.

Telehealth Visits:
- I will email you a Google Meet link a few minutes before the scheduled appointment time.
Village Lactation Cancellation and Late Arrival Policy
At Village Lactation, we can only see a limited number of clients each week. Missed appointments—including late cancellations, no-shows, and last-minute reschedules—impact our ability to serve other families and sustain our practice.
To ensure fairness and availability for all clients, please review our policy:
Cancellation or Rescheduling
- A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
- Providing 48 hours’ notice is greatly appreciated to help us accommodate other clients.
- Cancellations or reschedules made with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a $75 fee.
Missed Appointments (No-Call, No-Show)
- Clients who miss an appointment without providing notice will incur a $75 fee.
- A $75 refundable deposit will also be required to book any future appointments.
Late Arrivals (Office Appointments)
- Arriving late (more than 15 minutes) will result in a shortened appointment time to respect the schedules of other clients.
- If you are so late that we are unable to meet, it will be considered a missed appointment, and the $75 fee will apply.
Illness or Emergencies
We understand that unexpected illnesses or emergencies, especially with newborns, may arise. If anyone in your household is ill, please contact us as soon as possible to reschedule.
